140th Canton Fair: About 86,000 Overseas Buyers on Day One
On 15 October the 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened in Guangzhou. According to Xinhua, more than 30,000 exhibitors and around 340,000 overseas buyers are expected by 4 November. On the first day about 86,000 buyers from 208 countries and regions arrived, CCTV reported.
The first phase (15–19 October) focuses on advanced manufacturing: new energy, smart manufacturing, service robots, drones and display technologies. More than 12,000 exhibitors are showing on around 520,000 m², including over 6,000 high-tech companies.
For UAE buyers this is the main venue right now for direct talks with Chinese factories on electronics, equipment and industrial supplies. The first phase runs until 19 October.
