Detergent Pod Equipment from China for a Dubai Manufacturer
From a product idea to the right production equipment in China
A Dubai cleaning-products manufacturer needed a complete production line for multi-chamber water-soluble laundry pods — liquid or gel and granules inside one soluble film.
The job was not to send a catalogue machine. The line had to form, fill and seal the required pod format, dose each chamber consistently, and come from a Chinese manufacturer that actually builds this class of equipment.
GulfCN took the brief to China, checked equipment, production capability and finished samples on the ground, and shortlisted lines that could run the format. The buyer stays in Dubai. The search is on the ground in China.
The brief
The client is a Dubai-based cleaning-products manufacturer. Final destination: the client’s facility in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Required product: multi-chamber laundry detergent pods.
- Pod structure: several chambers inside one water-soluble film
- Fill: liquid or gel detergent in one chamber and a granular component in another, in a single pod
- Film: water-soluble film
- Process: forming, filling and sealing on an automated line
- Dosing: accurate, repeatable fill of each chamber

GulfCN identified and evaluated a suitable Chinese equipment supplier for that format and coordinated the order through delivery to the client’s facility in Dubai.
Client objective
The client needed a production solution that could make the required combination inside one soluble pod. A brochure shot of a finished pod is not evidence that the line can form the film, fill liquid/gel and granules into separate chambers, seal the pack and hold dose consistency.
The questions on this job:
- Can the line run multi-chamber pods, not only single-chamber?
- Can it fill liquid or gel and a granular component in the same pod?
- Is dosing consistent from chamber to chamber?
- Does the manufacturer build this equipment, or only display it?
- Can equipment, production capability and finished samples be checked in China before the Dubai buyer commits?
On the ground in China
GulfCN went to a China trade fair, looked at filling equipment and finished multi-chamber samples on the stands, and compared them with the brief.
What mattered on the floor was the process, not the product photo: film forming, chamber fill, seal, and whether the sample on the stand matched a liquid/gel + granule pod.
The buyer stayed in Dubai. Factory work and the fair were in China.
Follow-up on the same brief
The Dubai manufacturer received a shortlist of lines that can run liquid/gel and granules in one film, and the selected line was delivered to the client’s facility in Dubai.
Lines that could not do multi-chamber fill, or that only showed a packed pod with no working fill, were dropped.
The buyer stays in Dubai. The matching stays on the ground in China.
Looking beyond the catalogue
A catalogue photo of a pod is not a production line. The job was to match the brief to real forming–filling–sealing equipment and drop anything that could not do the required multi-chamber format.
Supplier evaluation in China covers three things together: the equipment, the manufacturer’s production capability, and finished samples of the pod format.
